Australia Global Health Film Festival - third edition!

We are delighted to confirm early details of the third edition of the Australia Global Health Film Festival, developed and delivered in partnership with the Australian Global Health Alliance

This year’s programme features excellent storytelling from all around the world, with a strong focus on planetary health, gender rights and sexual and reproductive health and rights. This year's programme include the International Premiere of Preconceived (2024) as well as Summer Qamp (2023), La Fabrique des Pandémies / Making Pandemics (2022), Luku Ngarra - The Law of the Land (2024) and For Sama (2019).

Global Health Film Founder and Director Gerri McHugh said “We are delighted to continue this strategic and most rewarding partnership with the Australia Global Health Alliance to bring excellent global health storytelling to an Australian audience.

Film is such a powerful medium for creating understanding and empathy in complex, neglected global health issues; Dr Selina Lo and her team at the Alliance have done a spectacular job in rapidly establishing the Australia Global Health Film Festival as a must-attend event for anyone interested in global health and social justice – we look forward to supporting their endeavours this year with yet another impressive line-up of films.”

Dr Selina Namchee Lo. Executive Director at the Australian Global Health Alliance added "We are so excited to bring to you our third edition of the Australian Global Health Film Festival this year. This event sits at the heart of our efforts to address some of the most pressing global health challenges of our time, using the Arts to inform, inspire and compel action. The ongoing success of this film festival and our efforts to screen important films wouldn't be possible without the unwavering support of our partners and dedicated contributors. Your collaboration and belief in the importance of global health storytelling continue to inspire us as we engage wider audiences in these conversations.

We are proud to partner with Global Health Film to bring these important narratives to an Australian audience and look forward to welcoming you to our events across the three cities."

The Australia Global Health Film Festival will take place in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra from 22 October. Further details and tickets here.
